This privacy policy applies to the Android application ScanVault: PDF Scanner & OCR (package com.scanvault.pdf), published on Google Play by Indi AI Solutions ("we", "us"). It explains how the app handles your information.
Your documents never leave your device. ScanVault has no user accounts. The app is free and shows ads served by Google, which use device identifiers as described below. The ads are managed through the PubMonetX ad service, which receives ad-delivery data from the app (no documents and no personal details). The app also contains one optional analytics feature, off by default. Neither ads, the ad service nor analytics ever receive your documents, images, recognized text, or file names.
We never collect or receive your documents, images, recognized text, file names, or contact details. The only data that reaches a service working for us is the ad-delivery data described under "Ad management (PubMonetX)".
ScanVault shows ads (banner and in-content ads on the app's screens, full-screen ads between screens, and an ad when you open or return to the app) served through Google Ad Manager using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. This data is collected and processed by Google. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Google Ad Manager can let other ad networks bid for the app's ad slots. For that, the app includes the ad SDKs of AppLovin, ironSource (Unity) and Mintegral. When an ad is requested, these SDKs may collect the same kinds of data listed under Advertising (advertising ID, IP address and coarse location derived from it, device and app information, ad interactions) to bid on, serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, and the network whose bid wins serves the ad. The app's ads are managed through the PubMonetX ad SDK, operated for us by PubMonetX (https://pubmonetx.com). It decides which ad placements may show and how often, sets ad prices, detects invalid traffic and fraud, and measures ad revenue. For that, the app sends to sdk.pubmonetx.com:
It is sent once you have answered the consent question (where one is asked), whether or not "Help improve ScanVault" is on, because ads cannot be delivered or protected from fraud without it. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it is sent only if you consent to storing information on your device. It is used only for the purposes above, is not sold, and is not used to build a profile of you. Event records are kept for up to 90 days; reports made from them hold no identifiers.
Only if you turn on "Help improve ScanVault" (Settings → Privacy — this is off unless you switch it on), the app sends anonymous product-usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase so we can see which features are used and where they fail. These events contain only:
They never contain your documents, page images, recognized text, file names, search terms, contacts or precise location. Analytics data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Turning it off: switch "Help improve ScanVault" off in Settings → Privacy. Collection stops immediately and the app asks the Firebase SDK to delete the analytics data held for your app instance. You may also contact us at syednawaz498@gmail.com to request deletion.
Everything the app produces stays in the app's private storage on your device, readable only by ScanVault:
Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device using on-device models. Documents are excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup. The only backups that exist are ones you create yourself with the app's "Back up vault" feature, saved to a location you choose.
Only what you explicitly export, share, save, or print yourself — to the destination you pick (for example another app, your own file storage, or a printer) — plus the advertising, ad-management and optional analytics data described above. We are not a party to your exports and never receive a copy.
Photos you import are re-encoded when saved, which removes EXIF metadata including GPS location.
ScanVault requests no runtime permissions — no camera, storage, location, or contacts access. It declares internet access, used to load ads, to send the ad-management data and the optional analytics described above, and the advertising-ID permission used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The document capture screen is provided by Google Play services' on-device document scanner; captured images are returned directly into the app's private storage. Importing photos uses the Android system photo picker, and saving files uses the Android system file picker — both give the app access only to the specific files you select.
No third party ever receives your documents or their contents. The app includes these services:

ScanVault is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your documents remain on your device until you delete them. You can delete any document inside the app, or remove everything at once by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android Settings, which also removes the app's install identifier. Ad-management event records are deleted after at most 90 days; to have them deleted sooner, email us at syednawaz498@gmail.com. Data collected by Google for ads or analytics is retained under Google's policies; you can reset your advertising ID at any time in Android Settings.
Documents never leave your device unless you export them. The app offers an optional app lock using your device's fingerprint, face, or screen lock, and blocks screenshots and the recents-screen preview while that lock is enabled. PDF exports can be encrypted with a password you choose (AES-128).
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will change.
